IPL 3 Preview: Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals, Jaipur

April 7, 2010

Kings XI Punjab finally got an outright win in IPL 3 against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Their chase would have made you think that there had never been any problems. Jayawardene replaced Shaun Marsh and came good with an unbeaten century.

Bopara retained his place and flopped badly. He started off well with the ball before that 33 run over to Gayle and didn’t get to bat what with the top four chasing down 200 by themselves. Sangakkara has retained him however and also drafted Sreesanth in place of Shalabh Shrivastava. Kings XI can technically still make it to the semi finals and spoil the party for a few other teams so that’s the least Sangakkara would want to do.

Rajasthan Royals are here after pulling off a tight finish against the Deccan Chargers at Nagpur. Shaun Tait and Morne Morkel have been left out but with Shane Watson firing on all cylinders, Rajasthan still look the stronger side.
